Receiver Unit Adjustment (RUA) Done in RMS After Stock Count Causes Out of Sync Stock on Hand (SOH) Between RMS and SIM (Doc ID 1988210.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 17, 2015

Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management - Version 13.1.7 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When a Receiving Unit Adjustment (RUA) is done for an item for which a stock count has happened, RMS publishes a RUA message to SIM.  SIM processes this message and incorrectly updates the stock on hand (SOH), thus leading to a SOH mismatch between RMS and SIM.  RMS does not update its own SOH when the RUA is done.

Steps to Reproduce:

Item1: Initial SOH: 48 (in both SIM and RMS)

  1. Create a PO for an item in RMS for a quantity of 50
  2. Submit and Approve
  3. Receive the PO in SIM
  4. SOH in both RMS and SIM is now 98
  5. Schedule and extract a unit stock count in SIM
  6. Enter the counted quantity as 26 for the item
  7. SIM generates an inventory adjustment for 98 - 26 = 72
  8. SOH in RMS and SIM is now at 26
  9. In RMS, create a RUA for the PO from Step 3 above and enter the adjustment quantity as -40
  10. RMS publishes a RUA message to SIM
  11. In RMS, SOH stays at 26.  In SIM, the SOH is updated as -14
