XOrderMOD Message Failures for Exchange Rate Attribute

Symptoms


In Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) 14.0.x, the exchange rate on a Purchase Order (PO) gets modified when XOrderMod message is passed to update comments, with exchange rate as NULL.


Steps to Reproduce:

Scenario 1:

  1. Create an import PO by passing exchange rate as NULL in the XOrderCre RIB message.
  2. Change VDATE to a later date and add different exchange rate entry in currency rates table for the VDATE.
  3. Pass XOrderMod message to update comments.

Scenario 2:

  1. Create an import PO and approve it.
  2. Close it.
  3. Change the exchange rate.
  4. Try to re-open the PO via XOrderMod message.
  5. See that the message fails with error.

Scenario 3:

  1. Create an import PO using XOrderCre and pass exchange rate as NULL.
  2. Change VDATE to a later date and add different exchange rate entry in currency rates table for the VDATE.
  3. Pass XOrderMod message to close the PO.

Scenario 4:

  1. Create an import PO using XOrderCre and pass exchange rate as NULL.
  2. Receive the item on PO using Receipt RIB message.
  3. Add different exchange rate entry in currency rates table for the VDATE and change VDATE.
  4. Pass XOrderMod message to update comments.
