ZRG2125F - Obsolete Benefit Questions Should not Appear

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
The module Group Contract Benefit Options (ZRG2125F with underlying view VER_PDD_CIW_VW) shows all benefit questions and options which are related to the benefit structure of the chosen product for the group contract. But some question sets, questions or answers are made obsolete with end dates. These should not appear anymore for selection of new answers. The underlying view seems to ignore the start/end dates on all levels but the group contract product itself.
Only in the end when committing the selected information, an error appears. But this is much to late.
Of course questions and answers used for the group contract in the past should remain visible. The screen fails a reference date as it's used in the Add Policy and Modify Policy screen for displaying the benefit options at a given moment in time.

Several obsolete questions for which allowed answers were provided in the screen and which were then rejected due to the very late check.
Note that the person responsible for the questions and answers is not the same as the one responsible for the setup of group contracts. So this person may not know in advance of obsolete questions/answers.

VER-04271: The usage end date must be before or on the usage end date of the grouped option. (#1#).
VER-03907: The validity period of the group contract grouped option must be within the period of the grouped option. (#1#).


EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Only questions and answers available which are actually active. Not the obsolete ones.


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Follow the setup flow in the attached document to see all objects involved.
2. Then go to the group contract benefit options and select answers from an obsolete question. Only then you will receive the mentioned error messages.


BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Setup of group contract benefit options is already difficult due to the lack of a tree view giving a clear overview of available questions and answers in case of multi-step approach.
The questions are only presented as a long list without structure. Having more questions available than required increases this contract management issue.
