In UIM DS, Modelling of Shelf Is not Dynamic (Doc ID 1993471.1)

Last updated on JULY 17, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management - Version 7.2.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

1) It's not possible to set out a Slot X or Y displacement on a Shelf dynamically via drag&drop. Basically once the slots positions are defined either as a Matrix or as a Rectangle they can only be positioned based on that framework. Reality is there are shelves which may have 2 slots per a column of a matrix (occupying its full column) and have 10 slots on another column of a matrix representation.

Screenshot from Objectel Vs UIM

The Shelf is very rigidly constructed by a fixed matrix assuming all the Shelf front view represents Slot positions.
In fact an equipment has positions that are not usable for placing Slots. In UIM is not possible to make a proper and real representation of the shelf
