When a POP client tries to log in, or an IMAP client tries to SELECT the folder, or the ims-ms channel master program ims_master tries to deliver a message, the operation fails with a confusing error to the client and in the corresponding log you see:
System I/O error. Administrator, check server log for details.
Gradual build up of mail in the folder over time without cleaning it out.
