Enhancement Request - Cable Pair Condition Code Not Visible Prior To Assignment (Doc ID 1995546.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications MetaSolv Solution - Version 6.2.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Actual Behavior

Condition codes are visible for mounting positions and port address. So users can see it before attempting to install a card or make an assignment. However, for cable pairs the condition code isn't visible until an assignment is attempted.

1. Cable pair condition codes aren’t visible in the Cable pair module.

2. Cable pair condition codes aren't visible when viewing available cable pairs for assignments. Blocked condition codes still show unassigned. The only way to know if pairs have a condition code is to attempt an assignment. Multiple assignment attempts are needed to find an unassigned pair with no condition code.

Expected Behavior

If condition codes are associated to cable pairs, they are visible in the cable module and assignment window.

Business Impact

Cable pair assignment process takes longer if condition codes exists on multiple pairs for a cable. The functionality is not consistent with mounting positions and port addresses.
