EC 3.4 Connection Issues: 'Login was not successful' Message (Doc ID 1998277.1)

Symptoms

After performing an upgrade to EC 3.4 and Agile 9.3.4 it is no longer possible to log in. When users try to log in from the EC 3.4 client, the following error message occurs:

Login was not successful

No users (both database and LDAP) are able to log into Agile from EC 3.4. From the Webclient and Java client, all users (database and LDAP) are able to log in with no issues. File Manager connects successfully and files can be added and downloaded from the system.

a9proxy.log is showing the following error:

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Perform an upgrade to Agile 9.3.4 and EC 3.4.
  2. Try to log in from the EC 3.4 client.
