Android 5.0 (Lollipop) Client Can Not Connect To Older Messaging Server

When attempting to set up a secure IMAP email account on an Android 5.0 device to connect to Oracle Communications Messaging Server 6.3,
the following errors appear during setup:
Incoming mail server (IMAP): Error connecting. Handshake failed.
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Error connecting. Handshake failed.
Please make sure the data is correct.
- the issue only occurs with this new Android 5 device, while with other devices it works normally.
- when using on the Android 5.0 device a non-encrypted IMAP and SMTP setup, the account can be configured with no issues and can send/receive emails normally.
Please advise on what could be the issue and how we can resolve it.
