ReIM Doc IDs Are Generated With Wide Gaps in Sequence (Doc ID 2004992.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 13, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Invoice Matching - Version 13.2.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Oracle Retail Invoice Matching (ReIM) document IDs (IM_DOC_HEAD.DOC_ID) are generated with wide gaps in sequence.  Due to the sequence gaps, the limit of the length of the DOC_ID field is quickly reached (currently at 10 digits).  We will need to either:

  1. Make sure there are no gaps in the sequence of DOC_IDs
  2. Expand the length of the DOC_ID field
  3. Recycle (or re-use) old DOC_IDs

We need assistance in selecting the best option, as well as execution of said option since the algorithm to generate DOC_ID is internal to ReIM and cannot be found in any documentation.
