'Authorization Service' is Offline When the Pinpad Device Times Out at the Swipe Card Prompt

When attempting to complete credit/debit tenders with ACI PINComm and a timeout occurs due to no card swipe on the device, 'Authorization is offline' message appears, the Authorization Service status changes to Offline, and the following error occurs:
Steps to Reproduce:
- Select F3 POS and Enter an item
- Select 'F6 Tender' and then 'F4 Credit/Debit'
- Wait for the timeout period that is set in the below section of the pinCommConfig.xml to be reached
- Once the timeout is reached, the 'Authorization Offline' screen is displayed
