ORA-20001:ORA-24344: Success With Compilation Error when Upgrade Data Model (Doc ID 2014170.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 13, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Demantra Demand Management - Version 12.2.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Customer is on and mentions that they are updating the delivered Site tree to create a hierarchy as follows in the data Model
1. Site
2. Department – Cust Cat 1
3. Facility – Cust Cat 8
4. Service Area – Cust Cat 9
5. Region – Cust Cat 10

These are not at the lowest level. They did not make any changes at the lowest level. Site is lowest level. They are adding things above site to the site hierarchy

Site > Cust Cat1 >Cust Cat 8 > Cust Can 9 > Cust Cat 10

They are adding the fields e1_cust_cat_8, e1_cust_cat_9, and e1_Cust_cat_10 to the model (below e1_cust_cat_1). These are to be fed by T_SRC_LOC_TEMPL.E1_CUSTOMER_CATEGORY8, T_SRC_LOC_TEMPL.E1_CUSTOMER_CATEGORY9, and T_SRC_LOC_TEMPL.E1_CUSTOMER_CATEGORY10.

To do so, they added relations and descriptions from cust cat 8,9 and 10 below Cust Cat 1 (see doc).

However, when they Build the Model (using the upgrade option) they get the following error message:
"Error ORA-20001: ORA-24344: success with compilation error. Problem with procedure build model"

The db_exception_log does not show any rows despite the above error

Enabled Log_IT for data model and uploading the logs for the same Initially data_model package was invalid, and they had issues compiling But eventually we were able to compile it by way of

Business Modeler--> Tools-->Recompile-->Compile

But despite that customer keeps getting the same error
