Exporting Item to aXML Fails with Error: 'java.lang.Null Pointer Exception' (Doc ID 2014984.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to exporting the item object from the system for some items. the following error occurs.

Java.lang.NullPointerException The Page at https://agileplm.<DOMAIN_NAME> An error occurred during export

The export fails only when exporting to PDX or aXML and works when exporting to Excel.
