Why Does RMS Update Stock on Hand (SOH) for Non-Inventory Items (Deposit Containers)? (Doc ID 2016505.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 17, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 13.2.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS), when the user sends an inventory adjustment with deposit container in details (i.e., a non-inventory item), the application interface processes this adjustment without any error (using rms.RMSSUB_INVADJUST.consume).  In addition, RMS changes ITEM_LOC_SOH.STOCK_ON_HAND for the item and does not write any information to TRAN_DATA.  Why is this?
