Premise Note Portal (CI-PNOTE) Comments Field Only Allows 1 Character (Doc ID 2016799.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 21, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing - Version 2.4.0.2.0 to 2.5.0.0.0 [Release 2.4 to 2.5]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The Premise Note Portal(CI-PNOTE) installed from the Demo version, will not allow users to enter more than 1 character into the field.
The data in this field is written to the CI_CASE COMMENT_LONG field which is set as "VARCHAR(2000bytes)".
- Writing the data directly to the database is successful - therefore this is not a database issue.
- Users are able to write to the CASE comments field online which updates the same database field as the PRemise note comments field.
The online response received is "The Value you entered is too long. Please make it shorter." 11001/1412

Users expect to be able to enter the full field length. While there is a workaround this will create unwanted inefficiencies in their work processes, and affects multiple users.
