Unable To Login To Demantra 12.2.4.1 - issue on loadUserData (Doc ID 2017711.1)

Symptoms

Unable to login to demantra 12.2.4.1
Demantra schema passwords have been changed prior to the issue.

The following error is showing up in collaborator.log file

java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
at com.demantra.applicationServer.metaDataObjects.user.UserList.loadUserData(UserList.java:1312)
at com.demantra.applicationServer.metaDataObjects.user.UserList.<init>(UserList.java:319)
at com.demantra.applicationServer.metaDataObjects.component.ComponentsList.loadAsServer(ComponentsList.java:487)
at com.demantra.applicationServer.metaDataObjects.component.ComponentsList.<init>(ComponentsList.java:250)
at com.demantra.applicationServer.metaDataObjects.component.ComponentsList.loadObjects(ComponentsList.java:1930)
at com.demantra.applicationServer.metaDataObjects.component.ComponentsList.getInstance(ComponentsList.java:223)

Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: null key not supported
at com.sosnoski.util.hashmap.StringIntHashMap.add(StringIntHashMap.java:256)
at com.demantra.applicationServer.security.UAKRepository.<clinit>(UAKRepository.java:34)

 

Steps taken:
alter user msdem identified by xxx;
connect msdem/xxx
UPDATE aps_params
 SET value_string = encrypt_string('xxx')
 WHERE pname = 'database.password';

Update password in Application Server configs

Set the schema password in Demantra security management (d:\oracle\demantra\Demand Planner\Security Management\encryption.exe) to the correct value

Restart web server and not able to login. not sure if pw change is the root cause as there multiple activities going on.
