Convergence Replaces % Signs In Url Encoded Characters With %25

Symptoms
We are using Convergence 2-6.01. When we use the insert link button in the mail editor, Convergence replaces "%" signs in URL encoded characters with "%". We have tested the problem both with and without client customizations turned on and the problem happens in both situations.
For example (for illustration purposes only - not a valid link), when we use the following URL:
We did find a couple of workarounds internally, but neither of them are feasible, nor user-friendly for our site:
Workaround 1: paste the link directly in the email, but it's not a very "cosmetic" solution.
Workaround 2: use a browser's html code inspector to edit the href value and the _djrealurl value. At this point, when you send the email, the link is not going to be edited.
