Counterutil Has Err Between 4AM and 5AM and Occasional Gaps in Logs (Doc ID 2018724.1)

Symptoms

We have a report generated by a script which runs counterutil once per minute.  It occasionally shows "Err" for the IMAP response time.

The "Err" value does not come from counterutil, but from the script when the value of the counter is zero (0).

The script can also result in a 0 if there is an error extracting the value from the counterutil output.

Also, sometimes there are gaps in the time stamps in the log files.  Several minutes will go by with no activity.  But it does not make sense that there was no activity on that system at that time.
