Goal

Is there a way to delay the response to SMTP authentication failures? 

 

We appear to be answering "535 5.7.8 Bad username or password (Authentication failed).” on port 587, with absolutely 0 seconds delay on our outbound mta servers. We would like to delay these specific responses by a second or two.
