The goal of this article is to provide an explanation why an end user would be unable to view cases with Log entries that reached 999 or has maximum sequence of 999.

to replicate:

1) pick a case with logs that has a 999 sequence
2) enter the case Id in the Case Page
3) error is reproduced.
