Endeca/OLT Is Breaking Down Nouns Into Syllables
Last updated on MARCH 02, 2017
Applies to:Oracle Commerce Guided Search / Oracle Commerce Experience Manager - Version 6.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
MDEX with OLT (Oracle Language Technology) seems to be tokenizing (breaking down) proper nouns into syllables for Japanese Katakana pronouns (e.g. artists' names) even though matchall mode is used.
This issue did not happen with MDEX 6.1.3 which did not use OLT.
Example Queries and Results.
- Search term:エマストーン (Emma Stone) is matched to エマニュエル・バーンストーンEmanuel Bernstone
- マティアス (Mattias) seems to be split in to マティ (Matti) and アス (as) and returning records that are partially matched.
The issue started to happen after upgrading MDEX from 6.1.3 to 6.5.0 version.
