Information in this document applies to any platform.

You are using Dependent Drop Down characterstics with some default values.

Where the populating of Dependent Characterstics with Default values mentioned in "<UIM-HOME>/config/" is getting failed.

- uim.characteristic.dropdown.defaultValue.enabled=true
- uim.characteristic.dropdown.characteristicname.=Referenced Entity Display Label in drop-down

Scenario 1: You have an entity link characteristic and its Default Value is automatically selected. However there is an issue for its dependent characteristic – its Drop-Down list is not loading any values. When the “Default value for an entity link characteristic” functionality is disabled (uim.characteristic.dropdown.defaultValue.enabled=false), the list for the dependent entity link characteristic returns some values.

Scenario 2: There are 3 entity link characteristics which are dependent on each other as follows: “2” is dependent on “1”, “3” is dependent on “2”. We have the following Default values configured for the three characteristics:
1. uim.characteristic.dropdown.characteristicname.administrative_area=<Admin_Area>
2. uim.characteristic.dropdown.characteristicname.subdivision=<SubDiv>
3. uim.characteristic.dropdown.characteristicname.thoroughfare=<ThouroughFare>
The Default value is selected only for the first characteristic.
This functionality should work for an unlimited number of dependent entities link characteristics.
