Product Advisory : Central Designer
To aid in Central Designer application upgrade planning, be aware of the following:
Starting in Releases 2.0.5 and 184.108.40.206, the Central Designer application will use a new, non-expiring strong name key pair for signing custom functions. Upgrades to these releases will therefore require any custom functions to be recompiled. Additionally, custom functions requiring elevated privileges must be re-signed with the new key. After this upgrade, these steps should no longer be necessary for future release upgrades, since the new key pair will not expire.
The specific upgrade process will depend on the current release:
If upgrading from a Central Designer release in the 2.x series follow these steps:
- Recompile functions
- Re-sign functions requiring elevated privileges
If upgrading to either of these releases from a Central Designer release in the 1.x series, follow this step:
- Follow the upgrade steps documented in the Central Designer Installation Guide and the Rules Reference Guide.
A detailed description of the function upgrade process is attached.
