Symptoms

In Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA) 7.3.3.3, when running a Model Upload using the upload.sh script, the model upload fails.  The following error exists in the ETLService.log from $FIC_APP_HOME/common/FICServer/logs:

[ETLLOG] Jul 20,15 15:36:26 : [CLSUCNTUPLOADHANDLER]Modeupload Request Received...["modelId":"0","name":"null","model":"N","filename":"PFT_Datamodel.xml"]
[ETLLOG] Jul 20,15 15:52:56 : [MODELUPLOADHELPER]Exception occurred while retrieving the model id...
[ETLLOG] Jul 20,15 15:52:56 : [MODELUPLOADHELPER]
java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.String cannot be cast to com.iflex.fic.global.DACRecordSet

The following error appears in the SMSService.log at the same timestamp:

[UMMLOG] Jul 20,15 15:52:26 : [DACCONNECTIONPROVIDER]Error getting connection from pooljava.sql.SQLException: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
.
.
.
Caused by: oracle.net.ns.NetException: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
.
.
.
Caused by: java.net.UnknownHostException: //server-name

A RAC setup is used for the database in this environment.  The JDBC connection string uses a format for a RAC setup:

jdbc:oracle:thin:@//server-name:1521/ORCL112.domain.com

The model upload appears to fail when using the JDBC connect string to connect to the OFSAA database.
