Symptoms

On : 6.2.1 version, Engineering

Problem Summary:  CLS Serial Number Circuit ID – not auto-populating on the Virtual Connection when it is being built (generated within) in the Network

When created directly from the Managing a Connection window within Network Systems by selecting New Connection when right-clicking on a virtual Connection Spec, the serial number is not auto-generated for the new virtual connection when CLS is provided within the Connection Type dropdown as it should.

This only applies when the

Service Requests > Connection > Options for CLS-Serial Number Generation ,   preference is set to either adjustable or non-adjustable System-wide Sequence, and not when this preference is set to use the Organization CLS prefixes.

STEPS TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Make sure the following configuration is in place before user logs in to execute the operation:

a. Preferences for Service Request  -  Connections  -  Options for CLS - Serial Number Generation is set to  AS  or  NA
      (AS - Adustable or   NA - Non-Adjustable )

b. Configurations for Organizations Setup - Organization CLS Prefixes were properly entered.

2-Make a new NS with a virtual Connection Spec between its components.
3-Right click on the Spec in the NS and Select New Connection
4-The Serial number is not auto populated for the Connection type= CLS Format(Structured)
