Application Crashes with Error Number 2 Attempting to Login Using Inactive User ID

When an "inactive" user attempts to login, the MetaSolv Solution, the application displays the appropriate informational message that the User ID entered is not active.  However, the application immediately crashes with an "Error Number 2" after acknowledging the message.
