The issue described in this document is known to Oracle, and a fix is already scheduled for future release. This article will be updated as official patch becomes available.

In Store Inventory Management (SIM), we find that when a third party stock count is manually authorized, SIM generates Inventory Adjustments (IAs) for the missing items from the input file.  However, SIM does not generate any IAs when the stock count is auto-authorized.

Steps to Recreate:

System configuration settings:

1. Schedule a Unit, auto authorized stock count with the counting method set to 3rd party
2. Add a couple of serialized items and a couple of regular items to the stock count
3. Schedule and extract stock count
4. Take snapshot
5. Prepare the input file so that one UIN item and one regular item are missing from the input file
6. Upload the input file using the batch
7. Note that the stock count authorization is completed
8. Query SIM database table RK_INV_ADJUSTMENT and note that NO inventory adjustments are created for the above stock count
9. Repeat the test but this time create the product group without 'Auto Authorize' flag unchecked (i.e., Manual authorization)
10. Follow steps 2 through 6
11. Log into SIM and complete manual authorization - Do not add any quantities for the missing items
12. Query SIM database table RK_INV_ADJUSTMENT and note that a "Stock Out" inventory adjustment is created for the missing serialized item, but no inventory adjustment is created for the regular item
