Why Backward Tasks are Queueing up with Wrong Dates, Banding Around the Due Date for the Order? (Doc ID 2047941.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 11, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications MetaSolv Solution - Version 6.2.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Users feel MSS Work Management is not properly assigning task dates for orders with duration shorter than the used provisioning plan.

They are queuing up the tasks correctly with the configured work groups but are not assigning the dates correctly.

When applied to an order whose duration is smaller than the provisioning plan duration, the backward facing tasks get banded all over with same finish date as the DD task.
User needs to manually change the due date of a task, for a day prior to the DD due date for MSS to recalculate the schedule.

Expedited Work Interval can help users for orders whose duration is shorter than the Provisioning Plan duration.
