'Authorization is Offline' Message Is Presented to the User When the AJB Framework Loses Connection With the Sled After a Timeout Value Is Reached (Doc ID 2048568.1)

Symptoms

In Oracle Retail Mobile Point of Service (ORMPOS), when attempting to tender a sale transaction with Credit/Debit, the following message is seen on the MPOS UI:



Steps to Reproduce:


Scenario 1:
Set the Payment Timeout value to 120 seconds on the iPod/iPad for the MPOS application.

  1. Launch MPOS
  2. Log in using valid user credentials
  3. Let iPod go to sleep
  4. Wake iPod and observe the “You have been logged out because you switched applications” error
  5. Log in and complete transaction by selecting Credit/Debit
  6. 'Authorization is offline' message occurs


Scenario 2:

  1. Launch MPOS.
  2. Log in and select New Transaction.
  3. Scan an item.
  4. Select Pay > Credit/Debit.  'Insert or Swipe Card' message appears on sled.
  5. Swipe a credit card.  Transaction is approved and signature prompt appears on MPOS.
  6. Sign and print the receipt.  User is returned to the Basket screen.
  7. Lock the iPad and let it stay idle for 2 minutes.
  8. Unlock the iPad.  User is back at login screen after the message 'You have been logged out because you switched applications'
  9. Log in and select New Transaction.
  10. Scan an item.
  11. Select Pay > Credit/Debit.
  12. Authorization is offline message appears.
  13. Select Return to Payment screen.
  14. Select Credit/Debit.
  15. Insert or Swipe card message appears on sled and transaction can be completed.
