Replicas Fail during Engine Restart with Null Pointer Exception (Doc ID 2049162.1)

Symptoms

Two engines were restarted during the process of restarting a few engine tier instances in a multicast OCCAS cluster setup.

Shortly after the 2nd engine was restarted 4 of the 6 replicas failed. The error "java.lang.NullPointerException" is seen is all the replica log files after the engine servers restart. Here is the stack trace:
