Getting Error: "Handshake_failure" When Using AutoVue Integrated to Web Center Content (WCC) and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is Used (Doc ID 2054596.1)

Symptoms

AutoVue is configured to open files via Web Center Content (WCC) and it is configured to use Secure Socket layer (SSL). After upgrading to Java JRE 8 it is no longer possible to use AutoVue from WCC, when trying to view a file using AutoVue the following error can be found in the Java console:

javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: handshake_failure
at sun.security.ssl.Alerts.getSSLException(Unknown Source)
at sun.security.ssl.Alerts.getSSLException(Unknown Source)
at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.recvAlert(Unknown Source)
at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.readRecord(Unknown Source)
at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.performInitialHandshake(Unknown Source)


Steps to reproduce:

  1. From a machine using Java JRE 8 try to view a file using AutoVue from WCC.
  2. Notice the error.

Changes

Using Java JRE 7 works fine. Problem only starts after upgrading to Java 8.
