Last updated on SEPTEMBER 29, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Converged Application Server - Version 7.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On OCCAS 7.0. the following steps were performed:

 I. Create SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) agent on port <port_number>.
II. Assign all servers to this agent.
III. Added Mbean that looks for attribute change in "Cluster" note property.
IV. Created an SNMP trap destination on the local machine.

When making changes in the cluster Note property, trap destination shows below output:

  1.  Why is it showing "SNMP inform received" instead of "SNMP Trap received"?

In order to perform SNMP monitoring, SNMP trap is set on port 162.
  2.  Will there be any problem in sending traps to 162 port by a non-root user?
