java.lang.NullPointerException Errors Running BSP 8.0.1 Upgrade On Second BSP Application (Doc ID 2057291.1)

On BSP 8.0.1, when attempting to run upgrade on a second application, the following error is thrown in the bsplog.log:

This application was initialized and working without issue prior to the upgrade attempt. First application is upgraded successfully with the same patch.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Run BSP 8.0.1 upgrade
