Incorrect Sales Type In TRAN_DATA For Promotional Sales (Doc ID 2058738.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 05, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 14.0 to 14.0.1 [Release 14.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Incorrect sales type was recorded in TRAN_DATA table for a promotional sale transaction with a scenario of buy 2 qty of item1 and get 30% off on 3rd qty.
Cumulative Total Retail was recorded in TRAN_DATA with sales type is 'R'egular.

In this scenario, TRAN_DATA entries were created as follows (assuming regular retail as 100):.

Item        Tran Code      Units        Total Retail    Sales Type
Item1             1                 3               270             R -- both regular and promotional values are clubbed with sales type 'R'
Item1           15                 1                 30             P

Expected Behavior:

It is expected to record different sale transactions for units sold at regular retail and promotional retail separately as follows:

Item        Tran Code      Units        Total Retail    Sales Type
Item1           1                 2               200               R -- regular sale separated
Item1           1                 1                 70               P -- promotional sale separated
Item1         15                 1                 30               P

Steps to Recreate:
1. Create a promotional sale transaction of buy 2 qty of item1 and get 30% off on 3rd qty.
2. Audit the storeday.
3. Run saexprms which generates POSU file.
4. Run posupld batch using the POSU file from step3.
5. Notice that tran code 1 record in TRAN_DATA table was cumulative and sales type is 'R'egular. It is expected to record different sale transactions for units sold at regular retail and promotional retail separately.
