How to Configure Release Cause Location in NCC (Doc ID 2062882.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 12, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 4.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control (NCC), in a Customized Applications for Mobile Network Enhanced Logic (CAMEL) voice call scenario, the TC_END message contains a field to define the release cause location of the call.

The location field describes what part of the network was the reason the REL message was issued. This field can have either “User” or “Network” values. The value selected will be populated in the location field of the Cause Indicator Parameter when a call is released.

User (default) - Message Generated by User
Local private network - Message generated by private network serving the local user
Local public network - Message generated by public network serving the local user
Transit network - Message generated by transit network
Remote public network - Message generated by public network serving the remote user
Remote private network - Message generated by private network serving the remote user
Local Interface - Message Generated by local user
International network - Message generated by international network
Network Beyond Interworking Point - Message generated by network beyond inter-working point.
Note: Under the Integrated Services Digital Network User Part (ISUP) Group object there is an object labeled Location Override where the above values can be overridden.

This article will explain if (or how) it is possible to change the release cause location in NCC.
