Error 'java.lang.InterruptedException' from Global Scheduled Services After a Long Runtime Has Elapsed Reaching the Long Running Connection Pool and Thread Pool 'Maximum Lease Duration' Values (Doc ID 2064257.1)

When attempting to run scheduled services, the following error occurs:

The exception is: SEVERE: TIMESTAMP:[SERVICE]:[PxService]: null

This error can occur even after increasing the PML (Connection Pool [Long Running]) and Thread Pool 'Maximum Lease Duration' settings to the maximum time allowed, generating this error after the maximum lease duration is reached (i.e. 7 hours).

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Run a Global Scheduled Service.
  2. After several hours, the reported error occurs in the job log file.
