'Application Preference Setting Not Set by Sysadmin for PFT' & Java.lang.NullPointerException (Doc ID 2065034.1)

Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA)

Symptoms

In Oracle Financial Services Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), Profitability Management (PFT), or Asset Liability Management (ALM) 6.1, when you go to Application Preferences, you get the following error:

java.lang.NullPointerException
  at com.ofs.fsapps.commonapps.core.preference.action.ApplicationPreferenceAction.init(ApplicationPreferenceAction.java:256)
  at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)
  at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:60)
  at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:37)
  at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:611) at com.opensymphony.xwork2.DefaultActionInvocation.invokeAction(DefaultActionInvocation.java:404)
etc.


The following error exists in the fsapps.log in the Tomcat/Websphere/Weblogic OFSAA log directory:

[10-10-15 11:48:36 AM] ~ INFO ~ FSAPPS ~ [COMMONAPP] Failed to fetch applicaltion preference
java.lang.Exception: Application preference setting not set by sysadmin for PFT
   at com.ofs.fsapps.commonapps.core.preference.model.ApplicationPreferenceModel.getApplicationPreference(ApplicationPreferenceModel.java:126)
   at com.ofs.fsapps.commonapps.core.preference.model.ApplicationPreferenceModel.getApplicationPreferenceProperty(ApplicationPreferenceModel.java:234)
   at com.ofs.fsapps.commonapps.core.utill.PreferenceClient.getApplicationPreferenceProperty(PreferenceClient.java:85)
   at com.ibm._jsp._topBanner._jspService(_topBanner.java:305)
   at com.ibm.ws.jsp.runtime.HttpJspBase.service(HttpJspBase.java:99)

As a result of the errors, you cannot open Application Preferences.
