Error: 'Error While Trying to Perform Update: Errors Located: RemainingDuration: Since the Duration Type is Fixed Duration & Units, setting Remaining Duration to 0 is Not Allowed" When Completing Task in Team Member (TM). (Doc ID 2067122.1)

Symptoms

On : P6 Application

Close an activity using Team Member. with Duration Type = Fixed Duration & Units and No Labor resource assigned.  The following Error is produced:

"Error while trying to perform update: Errors located: RemainingDuration: Since the Duration Type is Fixed Duration & Units, setting Remaining Duration to 0 is not allowed."

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

Involves P6 Web and Team Member workflow approval process.
1. In the Project Preferences dialog box, in Team Member Interfaces page, "Team members are assigned to activities as:" section, select "Activity Owners".
2. Select an Activity that has Duration Type = Fixed Duration & Units.
3. Assign to the activity an Activity owner.
4. In Assignments, add a Non-Labor Resource.
5. Log into TM.
6. Select the Activity from step 2 above.
7. Start the Activity and Save.  It starts correctly.
8. Select the Check Mark to complete the Activity and Save.

Receive the following message:

Errors occurred for the following tasks while saving data. Contact your System Administrator for more details.
"<Task Name> - Error while trying to perform update: Errors located: RemainingDuration: Since the Duration Type is Fixed Duration & Units, setting Remaining Duration to 0 is not allowed."

Web Access Logs produce the following:
