Slows Performance of Batch Containing Hundreds of Allocations Run Against LEDGER_STAT

In Oracle Financial Services Profitability Management (PFT) 6.1.x, when you run a batch with a large number of Allocations (400-500) against the LEDGER_STAT table, the Allocations are running for over 24 hours.  There are approximately 10,000,000 rows in LEDGER_STAT.

According to the AWR Workload Repository report, the MERGE INTO LEDGER_STAT statement runs is the longest running SQL.  The Allocations are updating existing Ledger Stat rows for a new month of data.

Before running the Allocations, the DBA re-built the indexes and analyzed tables/indexes.

You do not understand why the Allocation execution is so slow.
