How To Delete The Robot Manager State File for DIVArchive (mchanger) and Help With TAPE Synchronization Between DIVA and LIBRARY (SCSI) (Doc ID 2073774.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 13, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle DIVArchive - Version 6.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This document details how to delete the robot manager state file: mchanger.
The Mchanger file exists for connections in SCSI mode, it does NOT exist for conenctions via ACSLS.
This file is what the Robot manager uses to keep track of TAPE Barcodes and Slots in the LIBRARY.

Sometimes the LIBRARY and the DIVArchive Robot Manager are out of sync, and running "Synchronize DB / tape List" from DIVA Config Utility does not fix this issue.
In this case, it can be helpful to also delete the state file to assist in DIVArchive and the LIBRARY to synchronize.
