After Specifying recFilter in endecaBrowserService.json Record Spotlight Cartridge Returns: "We're sorry, no results were found." (Doc ID 2074912.1)

Symptoms

In the Experience Manager, after clicking the "Edit Selection" box for a record spotlight, the Endeca Browser pops up with no records.

Instead, a message is shown: "We're sorry, no results were found."

The application index has been updated, and records are present on the front-end and preview applications.

The "no results" is only shown in the Endeca Browser window(s).

Changes

Recently, the endecaBrowserService.json configuration file was updated.

In this file, the "recFilter" setting was changed to a value that contains a special character.

For example: "recFilter": "language:français"

Afterward, the set_editors_config control script is run to update the configuration in the ECR.
