This document is intended for any person involved in the development or operational activities of an OSM implementation. The purpose of this document is to help customers and those implementing solutions with common questions on OSM cartridges, and to provide guidance on how cartridges should be designed, versioned, and maintained throughout the software lifecycle of the solution.

This is a comprehensive document that addresses the topic of cartridge management at all levels.  It explains the basics of cartridge and cartridge versioning at the beginning, to providing detailed depiction of specific technicalities of cartridge scoping.  Towards the last half of the document, it applies the technical explanation to provide practical guidance and best practices to managing cartridge lifecycle in your production environment.
