Symptoms


Error occurs when upgrading database portion of Oracle Utilities Service and Measurement Data Foundation (SMDF) to 2.1.0.3 (SP3)

ERROR: ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object (DBD ERROR: error possibly near <*> indicator at char 20 in 'CREATE UNIQUE INDEX <*>D1C410P0 ON D1_CONS_EXT_TYPE(CONS_EXT_TYPE_CD) Tablespace CISTS_01 ') occured while executing CREATE UNIQUE INDEX D1C410P0 ON D1_CONS_EXT_TYPE(CONS_EXT_TYPE_CD) Tablespace CISTS_01


STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Follow steps to upgrade database to 2.1.0.3
2. Run Install-Upgrade scripts for SMDF step
3. Get an error as above "name is already used by an existing object"
