There is currently an issue in production RDF where records (ITEMS) are being thrown out due to illegal characters in the ITEM ID field in the PROD hierarchy. In other words, items that should be in RDF are not getting to RDF.

The issue originates when the DIFF IDs are being concatenated with the ITEM ID to create an ITEM+DIFF record in the PROD hierarchy. For most items this is OK, but some items have a DIFF ID with an illegal character, such as the “ (quote) mark.

For example, Item 186897 in size 21-inches (21”) is being sent to RDF as 18689721” and the “ (quote) mark is not a permitted character in RDF. It is an allowable character in RMS, but not allowable in RPAS/RDF.
