ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Rules Palette Compiler is not able to identify datatype errors

The Rules Palette Compiler is being run on transactions in order to identify syntax errors in 10.2. There are known syntax errors in the configuration resulting from the Business Rule Upgrade Utility that are not being reported by the compiler tool. All of the transaction configuration is defined in CopyBooks. The CopyBooks are defined at the plan level. The syntax errors that are not being identified are data type mismatch errors like the following example:

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Run debugger with the following in configuration
CopyBook-CALCDTRModalPremiumWL:

CurrentDTRPremiumRate
 


BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
The upgrade process requires a much greater level of manual intervention in order to identify syntax errors resulting from running the business rule upgrade utility on V7 configuration.
