Endeca Baseline Update Is Failing On /atg/commerce/endeca/index/SchemaExporter With Repository Connection Error (Doc ID 2090234.1)

In an 11.2 ATG/Endeca integration, the baseline update is failing almost immediately on the /atg/commerce/endeca/index/SchemaExporter step with the following error in the ATG server log/console:

This error can also appear when running the CRS reference application baseline update.
