Unable to View Circuit Details from the "View Only Connection Hierarchy" Window
(Doc ID 2091372.1)
Last updated on MARCH 06, 2019
Applies to:
Oracle Communications MetaSolv Solution - Version 6.2.1 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
If a Connection Design is opened in 'View Only' mode due to the circuit being locked by another user, the user is unable to view any details about the parent facility connection because there is no right click menu in the 'View Only Connection Hierarchy' window. The user is able to open the Connection Hierarchy window by double-clicking the facility block, but since there is no right-click menu available in the hierarchy window, the user cannot view any associated Connection References, User Data, etc.
The View Only Connection Hierarchy window should have right-click options for the ability to view associated information, but not allow any changes since the view is in read only mode. The only option for the user to access this data in the current model is to write down the circuit ID and manually query for the connection through Connection Design or Connection Hierarchy. This is not an efficient path for accessing the information.
Steps
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Inventory Management
2. Query for and open a Connection Design for any circuit having a Facility assignment
3. Double-click on the Facility design block to open the Connection Hierarchy window which shows the assignment
4. Access the circuit in View Only mode and note that there are no right-click options available. Since the connection design is view only, the Connection Hierarchy window opens in View Only mode as expected. However, because there are no right-click menu options, the user cannot see any additional information about the circuit. The user's only option to access the data is writing down the circuit ID, because the value cannot be copied, and manually querying for and accessing the circuit via Connection Design or Connection Hierarchy.
