Symptoms

When attempting to promote_content the following error occurs.
User experience is impacted because the front-end application no longer serves Endeca content.

ERROR

2015-11-26 01:05:07,823 SEVERE [com.endeca.infront.publish.LiveContentClient] (Thread-21) Received unknown message from server [NONODES]. Shutting down and reconnecting client [/127.0.0.1:39301]

26.11.2015 01:05:07.825 *ERROR* [New I/O server worker #1-22] com.endeca.ifcr.publish.impl.content.server.ContentServer Exception caught in channel handling. java.nio.channels.ClosedChannelException

Changes

 No significant changes have been made, though this may occur more often during heavy load (seasonal) deployments including extra application servers.
