P6 Professional Setup Wizard Fails With "Status Code -#########" or Launches an Installer With White Screen When Running Setup.exe

Information in this document applies to any platform.


When running the setup.exe for the P6 Professional any of the following errors can occur:




A log file will be generated to the user's profile location:

On Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\{Windows account name}\Local Settings\Temp\P6_Professional_{timestamp}.log

On Windows server 2008:
C:\Documents and Settings\{Windows account name}\AppData\Local\Temp\P6_Professional_{timestamp}.log

On Windows 7/8/10:
C:\Users\{Windows account name}\AppData\Local\Temp\P6_Professional_{timestamp}.log

The following error messages can be found in the P6_Professional_{timestamp}.log:

[07AC:07D0][2015-11-12T03:25:03]i000: OverallStatus is Failed to install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5
[07AC:07D0][2015-11-12T03:25:03]i000: OverallStatus is Failed to install Primavera P6 Professional (x86)
[07AC:07B0][2015-11-12T03:25:04]i500: Shutting down, exit code: 0x80072ee7


[0EEC:0EB8][2015-11-17T03:19:39]i000: OverallStatus is Not installed Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5
[0EEC:0EB8][2015-11-17T03:19:39]i000: OverallStatus is Not installed Primavera P6 Professional (x64)
[0EEC:09E0][2015-11-17T03:19:39]e000: Error 0x80072ee7: Failed while caching, aborting execution.


Error 0x80070643: Failed to install MSI package
