P6 Professional Setup Wizard Fails With "Status Code -#########", or setup.exe Displays a Blank White Window (Doc ID 2095206.1)

Symptoms

When running the setup.exe installer for P6 Professional, any of the following errors can occur:

ERROR #1:

The P6 Professional Installation Screen (after the prerequisite installs) is blank:

ERROR #2:

"The Operation You Requested Failed With Status Code -#######"

Reported error numbers: -2147024894. -2147023294. -21470112889. -2147019796, -2147012867, -2147023293, -2147024891

In addition, a log file will be generated to the user's profile location:

• On Windows XP: <DIR>\Documents and Settings\{Windows account name}\Local Settings\Temp\P6_Professional_{timestamp}.log
• On Windows server 2008: <DIR>\Documents and Settings\{Windows account name}\AppData\Local\Temp\P6_Professional_{timestamp}.log
• On Windows 7/8/10: <DIR>\Users\{Windows account name}\AppData\Local\Temp\P6_Professional_{timestamp}.log

The following error messages can be found in the P6_Professional_{timestamp}.log file:
