Vendor CIS systems are currently capable of providing code translations in CDA documents uploaded to the system. Many of these systems do not natively support national terminologies (eg AMT/SNOMED CT AU).
The HDR component of the PCEHR system does not currently process these translation codes. Any translation that is provided will be ignored, and only the primary code value is persisted atomically. As more vendor systems send through national terminologies as translations, it is important for the PCEHR system to process, store and return these codes.
