RMS Login Hangs When Using Java7 and Wrong/Expired Credentials Are Used (Doc ID 2104495.1)

Symptoms

With Java 7 installed, when the user tries to log in with an invalid credential or with a locked account credential, the Retail Merchandising System (RMS) applet hangs, and the only way to close it is by killing the session via the Task Manager.
This issue does not happen when the credentials are valid.  Also, when using Java 8u60, this issue does not happen.
